A Workshop for People With Feelings

Feelings flow through us in continual loops, partner with our thoughts to weave together meaning and belief, manifest as sensations in our bodies, direct our behavior, and basically make or break us as functioning human beings. Given how powerful a part of our experience they are, why is it easier to avoid them than to be with them? Popular mindfulness & meditation culture focus a lot on learning to "quiet the mind," but what about the storms that overtake our hearts?  

Yoga, psychology, and Buddhist philosophy offer skills that support our capacity to be with our feelings and to tenderly discern the information they offer. We are better equipped at handling the chaos around us when we have a clear connection to the emotional truths arising within us. By slowly shifting our relationship with the part of ourselves that feels deeply,  it becomes easier to notice and navigate the basic emotional signals vying for our attention without being swept away by them.

​Our time together will include a discussion of emotional literacy & theory, application of that theory to our own big emotional questions and conundrums, and practices to support awareness, allowing, and acceptance of our feeling selves.

Please wear comfortable clothing, have a non-digital means to take notes, and prepare a space (perhaps on a yoga mat) that supports movement, coziness, and includes any props you need to rest comfortably. 

Both our in-person & virtual spaces for this workshop are limited so there is plenty of time and space for connection, listening, reflection and questions.  ​

Audio recording will be made available to those who register for a small administrative cost, which is helpful if you are not able to join us live. ​
