I believe that people do better when they feel better. When either mind, body or spirit are weighed down or compromised, all three can fail.
My work as a graphic designer was starting to wreak havoc on my body. Even though I was very active, sitting for a decade at work led to excruciating pain in my sciatica. My first experience with yoga had been in an all-sanskrit class in New York City in 2003, which felt inaccessible and non-inclusive. However, when my sciatic issues appeared in 2009 and my physical therapist recommended yoga, I embraced that as a cure. I started a daily practice at Laughing Lotus in San Francisco with Jasmine Tarkeshi which soon alleviated the pain and brought so much more into my life than just the possibility of a pain-free existence.
Through breathing techniques, meditation, kirtan, and asana, I found a fullness in living that didn’t exist for me before. Fast forward ten years and a move to the mountains, I am honored to have studied with Dr. Juko Holiday at Ease Mountain Yoga Studio at the 200 hour level.
You can expect a creative sequence that explores your personal edge when attending one of my classes. I strive to create a space in which people of all shapes and sizes can explore their ability, while circulating as much joy through the body as possible.
I bow deeply to the great lineage of teachers that have come before me on this path, and am excited to share my love of yoga with my community.
