I am blessed to be a full time yoga teacher, trainer, and certified yoga therapist in addition to being the founder and director of Ease. You can read more about my trainings and individual sessions by clicking here to visit my web site.
I studied to become a yoga teacher with Mark Stephens at both the 200 and 500 hour level and have also trained with Judith Hanson Lasater, Karla Helbert, and Dr. Joanne Cacciatore. I founded Ease Mountain Yoga & Nourishing Arts in Ben Lomond, California in 2015 and am registered with Yoga Alliance as an experienced yoga teacher, or E-RYT. I am certified as a yoga therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT), and I am a member of the BYTA. I first taught yoga to others in 1996.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. I have an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University in Palo Alto, California.
My first encounter with yoga was in the 70s, watching Lilias Folan on PBS. I would encourage my mom to join me in front of the television set and shared what I learned with other children at school during recess. A seed was planted then that blossomed into a formal practice that has sustained me into adulthood.
I lived in Los Angeles for 17 years before moving to Santa Cruz, and had the great pleasure of taking classes with an array of really talented teachers. Making the decision to become a teacher myself is the fulfillment of an impulse that began on a playground many years ago. I have a strong interest in the impact that yoga has on emotional health, in particular how it is helpful to people who are managing chronic low moods.
